Before you leave your pet with anyone, cover these.
- Are you insured, and does it cover care and custody?
- How many other pets will you have at the same time?
- Will my pet ever be left alone, and for how long?
- What is your emergency plan, and which vet would you use?
- Can you administer medication?
- Will you send daily updates and photos?
- What happens if you are ill?
Paperwork
Leave written instructions: feeding amounts and times, medication, vet details, microchip number, your contact numbers and a local backup contact.
Do a handover visit
Meet in your home, walk through the routine, and watch how they greet your pet.
