About

I’m an Advanced Canine Behaviour Practitioner and Certified Dog Trainer, specialising in reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression and more complex behavioural challenges. My approach combines evidence-based learning theory with an understanding of the emotional processes underlying behaviour. Rather than simply addressing what a dog is doing, I look at the individual dog, why the behaviour is occurring, their learning history, environment and what is maintaining the behaviour. Alongside behaviour consultations, I provide one-to-one training for puppies, adolescents and adult dogs, helping owners develop practical, reliable skills that transfer into everyday life. I have undertaken extensive professional education in canine behaviour and training, including multiple diploma-level qualifications and specialist study across canine cognition, emotional behaviour, aggression, reactivity, fear, anxiety, trauma, rehabilitation and welfare. I also have experience assisting with behavioural assessments within police-approved kennels alongside professionals undertaking expert witness work. My aim is always the same: to understand the dog in front of me and provide practical, individualised support that improves both behaviour and welfare. I am also the creator of the PESBF framework.

I honestly can’t recommend Sam highly enough! She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and compassionate, and it’s obvious how much she genuinely cares about dogs and their owners, whilst taking the time to understand the individual dog rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, helping build and strengthen the relationship with your dog/s. What really sets her apart is the way she combines her expertise in canine behaviour with such a calm, positive and supportive approach. She explains things clearly, never makes you feel judged, and gives you practical tools that actually make a difference. Sam at pure canine services is absolutely amazing at what she does, I was very worried getting a trainer involved but I’m so glad somebody recommended Sam to me, she has so much knowledge and an incredible amount of qualifications to back this up, but more importantly she is such a dog person, my dog instantly trusted her and it was amazing to see that bond grow as the weeks passed, she honestly is a miracle worker, I can’t thank her enough for what she has done for me and my boy. 💙
